Straight flush
When playing poker, a straight flush is a group of five cards that are all of the same suit. Typically, this would be the 3, 4, 5, and 6 of Hearts. This hand is also known as a straight draw, but it is not as strong as a straight flush. This hand is the lowest-ranking type of straight draw and can be beaten by other combinations. A straight with a higher value wins in a showdown.
Royal flush
The Royal Flush in poker is one of the most powerful poker hands. It wins in a showdown against other combinations and is often called “the absolute nuts.” Royal Flushes are possible only when all the cards in a flush belong to the same suit. The suit of the cards in a royal flush determines its value. For example, clubs are the lowest suit, followed by diamonds and spades.
High-card hand
When the highest card is the same in five-card poker games, that hand is called a high-card poker hand. In most poker games, this hand is the weakest of all possible hands. High-card hands can also be referred to as kicker hands.
